Rufa Doria

Rufa Doria, PhD is a multi-hyphenate engineer, entrepreneur, community leader and a steward for higher education. She holds a Doctorate degree in Bioresource Engineering from McGill University where she was awarded a Global, environmental and Climate Change (GEC3) award. Previous to her Doctorate, she was a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship for her Master's Degree in Agricultural Engineering at Colorado State University in the USA. She also earned an NSERC (Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council) post-doctoral fellowship award, which led to her involvement in interdisciplinary projects internationally. She has practiced in her field in both industry and academia, including professional experiences at the Lethbridge Research Center and the University of Lethbridge. She also served as a Council Member at the Alberta Irrigation Council between 2016-2018. 

In 2017, Rufa embarked on her entrepreneurship journey after passing the licensure examination by the College of Immigration Consultants of Canada (CICC) to become a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant. Rufa is the current CEO & co-founder of the Doria and Doria (DAD) Canada Immigration Consulting Inc, which won the grand prize at the Chinook Entrepreneur Challenge competition in 2018. Today, her business serves a plethora of families and international students from all over the world. 

Furthermore, Rufa serves as the President of the Filipino Community of Lethbridge, Alberta (FCLA) and was the previous Vice-President of the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association (SAEA).
