Brendan Cummins
Brendan is currently an instructor in the University of Lethbridge’s School of Liberal Education. He teaches mostly first and second-year classes and spends a lot of his time challenging students to question the things they know. In all his classes, students are encouraged to stretch the boundaries of how they acquire knowledge and how they think about the world in which they live and work. Brendan is also a PhD candidate in the Cultural, Social, and Political Thought program at the University of Lethbridge. His research interest focuses on how religious movements and organizations, particularly new religious movements like Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, use faith, doctrine, and practice to generate socially produced spaces in recreation, education, and social activity that define identities and communities.
When not diving into research he is an avid comic book reader and collector. He also enjoys the walking in the parks and along trails in Lethbridge with his partner Jeanie and his rescue dog Ellie.
