Are you a female interested in pursuing a career in Finance?

Women in Capital Markets (WCM) unites all voices in the Canadian financial industry working to accelerate gender diversity. Their 3500 members are diverse students and professionals at all career stages and in all segments of capital markets and related financial services across Canada. Through their chapters, they build a strong talent pipeline of future leaders by educating female high school and university students on the diverse and rewarding opportunities with the financial industry.

Women in Capital Markets has a mentorship program available to University students! WCM's UniConnect Mentorship Program pairs female undergraduate and graduate students with a professional currently working in the capital markets. Students gain valuable insights, guidance and advice from their mentors that will help set theirs careers in motion.  For more information https://wcm.ca/programs/students-mentorship-program

Protégées will be paired with four professionals, starting with one mentor for three mentorship sessions during the first three months of the program. For the remaining three months, protégées will have the opportunity to meet a different mentor each month. These meetings should be held virtually and will allow protégées to discuss a wide range of topics that could include:

  • A view into a career in capital markets
  • A day in the life of an Analyst/ Associate etc.
  • Skill building for success
  • Networking - building and maintaining a network; the etiquette of networking
  • Navigating the interview and recruiting process

Membership typically costs $25 but the Dhillon School of Business Student Professional Development is going to pay for 4 student memberships for participation in the mentorship program.
