Canada's Outstanding CEO of the Year

The Futures Fund Scholarship presented by Canada's Outstanding CEO of the Year is a prestigious $10,000 award. The Scholarship is granted to students with strong leadership potential and includes a trip to Toronto to attend the CEO of the Year Gala dinner and special events for 10 scholarship recipients from across Canada. The University of Lethbridge Dhillon School of Business has been selected as one of 10 universities eligible to select a student to receive this scholarship for 2023. The deadline to apply for the Futures Fund Scholarship is Jan. 26 at midnight MST.

Scholarship details

The Futures Fund Scholarship includes:

  • a scholarship of $10,000;
  • attendance at Canada’s outstanding CEO of the Year Award Gala Dinner on May 3, 2023 in Toronto;
  • attendance at a leadership session and special reception held in honour of the 2023 scholarship students;
  • two nights hotel accommodation in Toronto during the celebrations;
  • travel costs to and from Toronto; and
  • recognition in National Post, Gala Program material, website, and social media.

 

Eligibility criteria

Students applying must: 

  • be an undergraduate (in your third our fourth year of studies) or graduate student in a business degree program (B.Mgt or M.Sc Management);
  • enrolled for full-time studies in Spring 2023 and planning to attend the Dhillon School of Business full-time in Fall 2023;
  • attend all CEO of the Year and Futures Fund Events on May 2 and 3, 2023, in person (held in Toronto, ON). More details on the CEO of the Year award are available at https://ceoaward.ca/;
  • have demonstrated exemplary leadership in both academic pursuits and extracurricular initiatives; and
  • be a Canadian citizen.

 

Applications requirements

To apply for the Futures Fund Scholarship, you'll need: 

  • a current resume or CV;
  • a cover letter explaining how you meet the eligibility criteria of exemplary leadership in academic and extracurricular initiatives, providing clear examples and details;
  • a current university transcript which shows the courses you've taken and your current cumulative GPA, as well as showing you are enrolled in at least three courses in Spring 2023;
  • acknowledgement that you will be able to attend events in Toronto in person May 2 and 3, 2023, with possible travel to Toronto May 1, 2023; 
  • confirmation that you are a Canadian Citizen; and
  • apply by Jan. 26 before midnight MST using the application form button at the top or bottom of this page
