Wellness Workshops provide opportunities for students to develop more effective strategies to maintain positive mental health. You can self-register in any of the workshops, where you will gain strategies and create plans to make positive changes in your behaviours and overall wellness. Register today!

 

 

Wellness Workshops | Fall 2020 Offerings

Counselling Services offers a variety of workshops to help students with specific tools and strategies to thrive.

Exam Anxiety Workshop Series

Who? Presented by Counselling Services & Accomodated Learning Centre

What?  Students with be provided with tools and strategies to manage exam anxiety. Sessions include an introduction to exam anxiety, grounding exercises, normalizing anxiety, and strategic studying techniques. This workshop has proven effectiveness in helping students conquer their exam anxiety and succeed!

When?  Friday afternoon from 2:30pm-3:30pm starting Oct. 2, 2020 (4 weeks)

How?  Session will be offered via Zoom.

Building your Anxiety & Depression Toolbox

Anxiety and depression affect all people in one way or another. Attending this workshop will allow you to understand ‘YOUR’ experience with anxiety and/or depression and provide insight and new tools for managing it. This 4 session workshop will be held every Tuesday throughout the term from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm. Please join us for some great conversations and new insights!

Attention & Skill Development Workshop Series

Attention & Skill Development Workshop Series|Tuesday’s 1:30 – 3:30pm|Starts September 22nd 

This 6-session workshop is intended for students with a diagnosis of ADD/ADHD, and will provide specific tools to work with your ADHD, not against it.

Some topics that will be covered are:

  • Organization, planning and scheduling
  • Prioritizing and breaking down tasks
  • Reducing distractibility
  • Adaptive thinking
  • Procrastination

The sessions will provide you with knowledge, skills and tools that will benefit you both during your university years and after you begin your career.

To register: We are using Moodle to make the resources and information as accessible as possible. This course will be in a separate category from your term courses (Spring & Fall) as it will be in the “Long Term Courses” Section.
