Art Therapy Open Studio

Who? Any student interested in self-exploration through art expression

What? This drop-in therapeutic group is art-based, meaning the majority of each session will be spent on art making. Every week the facilitator will suggest a themed art directive related to mental health, and provide all art materials. Participants are also welcome to bring their own supplies, and will have the opportunity to share and discuss their art work and process.

Why? Art therapy provides an alternate way to express feelings and thoughts that may be difficult to articulate in talk therapy. Viewing images and forms concretely can help provide answers and further questions, and the process of “making” is therapeutic in itself. No art making experience necessary.

When? Starting on September 19, this workshop will run weekly on Mondays from 3:00-4:30pm.

Where? This workshop will be held in-person in the Counselling Services office.

Register: Students can email us at counselling.services@uleth.ca or call at (403)317-2845 to register.

This is an open workshop- please feel free to contact us at any time to register!
