You can self-register in any of the workshops, where you will gain strategies and create plans to make positive changes in your behaviours and overall wellness. Register today!
Wellness Workshops | Spring 2023 Offerings
Counselling Services offers a variety of workshops to help students with specific tools and strategies to thrive.

Exam Anxiety Workshop (Single Sessions)
Who? This singe-session style workshop is for anyone who wants to gain more skills for coping with test anxiety to enhance their performance anxiety.
What? In this workshop, students with be provided with tools and strategies to manage exam anxiety, including an introduction to exam anxiety, grounding exercises, normalizing anxiety, and strategic studying techniques.
Why? If anxiety negatively impacts your academic performance, please consider attending. The workshop will provide you with knowledge, skills and tools that will benefit you during your university years and after you begin your career.
When? This workshop will run as a lunch and learn 4 times throughout the semester (food provided!!) :
- January 24 - @ 12:00-1:00pm
- February 28- @ 12:00-1:00pm
- March 28 - @ 12:00-1:00pm
- April 4 - @ 12:00-1:00pm

30 Minutes of Mindfulness
Who? This workshop is for students who are looking for a simple but sincere way of nurturing daily mindfulness in their lives. No previous experience of mindfulness or meditation is necessary.
What? This workshop series will offer 30 minutes of introductory mindfulness practices, including breath-work and theme-based meditations to offer students a space to both learn and integrate awareness, presence, and heartfulness in their daily life.
Why? Mindfulness and breath-work practices offer a foundational way in which to strengthen awareness, ease stress, and live from the heart. Student life can be hectic and challenging, and mindfulness can support intentional ways of befriending and navigating these challenges.

The Sleep Workshop (Single Sessions)
Who? This single-session style workshop is for anyone who wants to gain better sleep habits and work on getting more restful sleep.
What? In this workshop, students with be provided with education, tools, and strategies to promote sleep.
Why? There are many reasons why you may not be sleeping your best. If you struggle to turn your brain off, fall asleep, stay asleep, or want to learn more about healthy sleep habits this workshop is for you.
When? This is offered twice per month, in the morning or in the evening. Please choose one date and time that work best for you. You are welcome to take more than one, just know the same material will be presented.

Building Your Anxiety + Depression Toolbox (Single Sessions)
Who? Anxiety and depression affect all people in one way or another. If you feel anxiety and/or depression is impacting you in a negative way, consider attending this workshop! These are single session style workshops.
What? This workshop will cover:
- Insights into Anxiety and Depression
- Understanding Anxiety and Depression
- Expanding your Toolbox
Why? Attending this workshop will allow you to understand your experience with anxiety and/or depression and provide insights and new tools for managing it.

Attention + Skill Development (ADHD)
Who? This workshop is intended for students with a formal medical diagnosis of ADD/ADHD.
What? This workshop series will provide specific tools to work with your ADHD, not against it. Some topics that will be covered are:
- Organization, planning and scheduling
- Prioritizing and breaking down tasks
- Reducing distractibility
- Adaptive thinking
- Procrastination
Why? The sessions will provide you with knowledge, skills and tools that will benefit you both during your university years and after you begin your career.
