Counselling Services Practicum Centre

Counselling Services Practicum Centre is a new program offered in partnership with Counselling Services and the Faculty of Education. This new program provides a space for current U of L students to receive brief personal counselling from graduate level practicum students (interns) who are completing their Master of Counselling or Master of Education in Counselling Psychology through the University of Lethbridge’s Faculty of Education. 

 

Office Hours:

Tuesday: 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday & Thursday: 12:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Friday: 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Location: 

  • Level 1 (lower level) Turcotte Hall
  • Offices: TH152-160
  • Waiting Room: TH148

For the most accessible route, take the elevator on the east side of Level 2 (main floor) in Turcotte Hall (nearest the Students’ Union building – elevator 13), head down to Level 1 (lower level), and follow the overhead signage to rooms TH173-TH142.

Master of Counselling Practicum Opportunity

 

What to expect:

  • You would provide individual, personal counselling for post-secondary students via in-person sessions.
  • Practicum must be completed in-person. We do not accept exclusively virtual/distance interns.
  • Additional hours will be required for staff meetings, case consultations, group supervision, mental health outreach, learning intake procedures, and front-desk shifts. Weekend hours may be required for outreach work.
  • May include opportunities to co-facilitate group counselling sessions and/or provide psychoeducational and training opportunities to students on campus.

We are an approved placement for interns from:

  • U of L - M.Ed. Counselling Psych
  • U of L - MC. Counselling Psych
  • We are unable to accept applications from other institutions.

  • Applications should include a cover letter, CV, and references with contact info included.
  • Applications must be emailed directly to practicum.centre@uleth.ca
  • Please address your application package to: Sandy Witdouck, Clinical Practicum Supervisor.
  • Applications will be accepted via email from December 1st, 2025 to February 15, 2026.
