Call For Papers/Abstracts

We welcome oral and poster presentations on the substantive results of geographical research and studies. Oral presentations are scheduled for Saturday 9 March in 20-minute time slots, with 15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for questions and transition. Some oral presentation sessions may be structured in a manner that allows a discussant to summarize the session’s presentations. Posters will be up all day Saturday, and are restricted to 4 x 3 ft (122 × 91 cm : H x W). Both oral and poster presentations require abstracts to be sent in by the deadline of February 1, 2013. Oral presentation requests may be scheduled as a poster presentation depending on scheduling restrictions.

In addition to the traditional presentation formats, we welcome suggestions for panel discussions on various geographical themes and topics. The number of panels will be limited by room availability and will be scheduled during Saturday’s formal sessions. Please submit suggestions via email to wdcag2013@uleth.ca, and indicate whether you are willing to chair such a session.

Digital projectors compatible with standard formats will be available and a PC or laptop with MS PowerPoint and MS Word will be available for presenters. It is crucial for presenters to bring an electronic copy of their presentations on a USB flash drive, and unload their presentation before the session. You are strongly encouraged to bring backups and hard copies (handouts) for all digital media. We may be able to accommodate other formats on request. Send requests to wdcag2013@uleth.ca.
