Getting Started at ULethbridge as a Visiting Scholar
This page is your guide to getting set up as a visiting scholar at the University of Lethbridge, including setting up your user login, accessing webmail and more. This page also contains links to resources and information related to campus services, such as parking and transportation and finding your way around campus.
Your campus login is necessary to access various services and portals, such as the Bridge, Webmail, and more.
- If you were previously a student or employee at ULethbridge and remember your Login credentials, you can login with the same information.
- If you forgot your Login credentials or need to create one, follow the steps below.
To set up your Campus Login:
- Have your nine-digit ULethbridge ID number and birth date available. This information will be provided to you by the faculty or department that is hosting you. If you have not been provided with this information, please contact human.resources@uleth.ca.
- Visit the Set-up Login webpage.
- Follow the steps provided on the setup page to select your username, password and security questions.
- Now that you have your Login credentials, you will have access to the Bridge, Webmail, etc.
Your ULethbridge email will be the primary contact point that University administration, Human Resources, and your colleagues will use to communicate with you. Automatic email reminders will also be sent to you to ensure you submit your Timesheets for approval on time.
To check your Webmail:
- Visit ULethbridge Webmail
- Select "Students, faculty, and staff webmail login."
- Use the credentials created when setting up your login.
You may also wish to utilize the Outlook Desktop application to access your campus webmail. This app is a standard part of the Microsoft Office Suite and is pre-installed on all University devices. You will utilize the same credentials to login to your webmail using the Outlook app.
The Bridge is a self-service portal. The Bridge is primarily used by students and employees, but will be the portal by which visiting scholars can manage their contact information and emergency contacts.
To set up your account in the Bridge:
- Go to The Bridge Set-up
- Enter your ULethbridge ID number.
- Follow the instructions and prompts.

In the event of an emergency or serious situation, it is vital for Human Resources to be able to reach a contact person on your behalf. All employees of the University are asked to complete the Emergency Contact information section on The Bridge (Web Information System) as soon as possible. Please review this information on an annual basis and update when necessary.
- Login to The Bridge
- Click on the Personal Information tab.
- Click on Update Emergency Contacts/Authorized Designate.
- To Add a New Contact: click New Contact under Emergency Contacts section, complete fields listed.
- To Update your Emergency Contact information: click the name you wish to update, make necessary changes.
- Click on the Submit Changes box.
You can apply for or update your Library Access online or stop by the Services Desk in the Library to apply for borrowing privileges. Your Campus ID card will serve as your library card. Employees are provided with full access to the University Library and all the printed and digital materials maintained within its collection.
