Course Registration Tips

Importance of Registering During Your Assigned Registration Period
Many of the courses you need are initially reserved for students in your program, to ensure you have the first opportunities to register.  After the initial registration period, those courses will be open for general access, and likely fill up, which is why it is so important for you to register during your assigned registration period.

Registration Restrictions
Other programs also place registration restrictions on their courses, to give their students the opportunity to register first. These restrictions may not be removed until the first week of classes. If you would like to take a class that is reserved for a different program, you are advised to check the Bridge regularly.  Unfortunately, we do not know when other faculties will be removing their registration restrictions.

Overfilling Courses
The Faculty of Health Sciences does not accept requests from a student or instructor to have courses overfilled past the maximum number of seats. If you need a course to meet requirements for your major/program, you will be able to secure a seat during the initial course registration period when courses are reserved for specific majors. If for some reason you do not secure a seat in a course needed to meet a major requirement, you can contact to the appropriate Academic Advisor for advice. Please note that it has always been against the policy of the Faculty of Health Sciences to overfill courses for students who are seeking to fulfill minor requirements.

Prerequisite Waivers
To request a prerequisite waiver for a course offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences, you must complete our online form: http://www.uleth.ca/healthsciences/waiver

Waitlists
The Faculty of Health Sciences does not have waitlists for any courses.

Course Sequencing
Many of the ABHL. ADCS, HLSC, PUBH, and TREC courses in your program are only offered once per year. We strongly encourage you to follow the Sample Sequence Plan located on the Program Planning Guide. Adherence to this sequencing will ensure you take prerequisite courses in the correct term. Keep in mind that you must follow the Program Planning Guide for your calendar year (this is normally the year you are admitted into the program). Changes in more recent program planning guides will not effect previous year’s course requirements.
