The University of Lethbridge (U of L) is one of the crown jewels of the City of Lethbridge. I am honoured to be considered for a position on the U of L Senate.

I am interested in the areas of athletics, research, and health science. I would like to learn more about the University of Lethbridge, particularly in the aforementioned areas. I would enjoy connecting with the community to promote the University of Lethbridge.

After 28 years as a Diagnostic Surgical Pathologist (Anatomical Pathologist) at the Chinook Regional Hospital, I retired in 2018. In addition to my duties as a Pathologist, I was the consultant for the Microbiology Department and chair of the Infection Control Committee. I have served on several provincial and national medical committees (including Alberta MicroNet, Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) Laboratory Medicine Competency Assessment, CPSA Physicians Achievement Review, CPSA Laboratory Accreditation Team, and Canadian Association of Pathologist Workload Project).

After retiring from Pathology, I took the position of Medical Informatics Lead for South Zone from 2018 to 2020. I was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary from 2000 to 2010.
I am fortunate to continue my long-term collaboration with a research team at the Lethbridge Research Centre, headed up by Dr. G. Douglas Inglis. Enteric microbiology, intestinal health, and alternatives to antibiotics for growth promotion in animals are the team’s main areas of research. I am fortunate to have 19 publications in peer-reviewed journals.

I serve as a member of the Board of Directors for the Buddhist Temples of Southern Alberta (as Secretary) and the Coaldale Pickleball Club (as President). I enjoy spending time with our four precious grandchildren, playing competitive pickleball, travelling, golfing, and reading.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
