In-Class Accommodations

The Accessible Learning Centre is happy to facilitate a wide range of in-class accommodations that support our students in achieving the best possible in-class experience

Typical in-class accommodations may include:

  • Preferential Seating
  • Specialized Furniture
  • Digital Voice Recorder (Must sign consent and discuss with professor for suitability/copyright/privacy considerations)
  • Access to Notes (may not be available due to copyright/undue hardship)
  • Note Taker (Limited opportunities)

The accommodations listed above can be flexibly negotiated as not all classes or professors will be able to accommodate recordings, access to notes, or recruitment limitations may impede on Note Taker staffing. It is best that all students remain flexible when seeking in-class accommodations and to consult the professor or ALC for specific limitations.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
