The mission of Campus Safety Security Services is to protect life, maintain safety, protect property and assets, and protect the environment for the University of Lethbridge. Security Services is one of four business units in the Department of Campus Safety, the other units are Emergency Management, Safety Services and Insurance and Risk. While Security Services is often closely associated with Emergency Management, there is a distinction between the business units and we encourage you to visit the Campus Safety Emergency Management site to better understand that distinction.

To achieve our mission the Security Services service delivery model includes:

  • Providing campus information
  • Access control and management (key and card)
  • Virtual and physical SafeWalk options
  • Campus patrols (foot, bicycle and vehicle)
  • Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring
  • Incident reporting, management and investigation
  • Lost and found property management (see new Lost and found online catalogue)
  • Workplace space assessments similar to Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design
  • Education and training opportunities
  • Working Alone partnership
  • First Aid Training (requests managed through Safety Services)

Security Representatives are designated U of L first responders and trained First Aid / CPR and can be contacted / located 24/7/365 through any one of the methods listed below:

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
