Scholarship Management System Referee Guide
References only have to complete this online form for the student once and it will be applied to all applicable internal scholarships that require reference letters. It is important to note you must complete this form as hard copy/emailed letters cannot be accepted. You must complete and submit your reference prior to the student submitting their application therefore it has to be complete on or before May 15th.
To access the reference form, use the link provided in the email invitation OR go to https://uleth.academicworks.ca, select the referee and reviewers tab on the sign-in page.
External Reference or Reviewers must create an account and passwords are deleted each year. To set up a new account or reset your password, please click on trouble signing in.
University of Lethbridge faculty should be able to sign in using your uLeth credentials.

If you have issues signing into the form, be sure you are using google chrome or FireFox as the web browser. If the issue persists, delete the cookies stored in your computer, or open a chrome browser in incognito mode.
Once you’ve reached the referee form page fill out the descriptive information about the applicant including how you know the student, how long have you known him/her, and how you would rate their academic excellence. Following this section please provide assessments of the student’s abilities in the following categories using concrete examples. Please be aware, you are not uploading a pdf file but rather filling in text boxes provided.
Academic Excellence: Provide an assessment of the applicant's skills, abilities, achievements, awards, experience and contributions related to this criterion.
Research Potential: Provide an assessment of the applicant's skills, abilities, achievements, awards, experience and contributions related to this criterion.
Personal Characteristics and Interpersonal Skills: Provide an assessment of the applicant's skills, abilities, achievements, awards, experience and contributions related to this criterion.
You may open, save, and edit your work as many times as you please before submitting the form with the button on the bottom right-hand corner. Keep in mine the deadline for reference submissions in May 15 as the student cannot submit the application until all references have been completed and submitted.
Travel awards such as the AB Travel Incentive & Dissemination Awards do not require reference letters and students can apply at anytime.
