Description: This project investigates barriers to participation and demand for study/work abroad programs of low-income students, students with disabilities and indigenous students. We would like to implement and test approaches to close gaps in funding and resources for study and work abroad opportunities for these students. UofL International would like to include a push for programs capable of enriching the overall experience of indigenous students, stimulate outlets for intercultural communication and lead to mutual understanding both for the student and the communities they join during their exchange.
We are looking for a student to
- Conduct research on study/work abroad barriers to participation and demand.
- Prepare and send out surveys.
- Record and enter survey data into databases, reports, and diagrams.
- Design and prepare promotional material targeting specific groups.
- Identify best practices/outreach strategies to recruit more students for exchanges.
- Research new possible partners in certain geographic areas offering indigenous studies.
- Reach out and strengthen relationship with the university’s indigenous offices, accommodated learning and student finance office.
- Assemble virtual exchange preparation guide for target group students.
Skills requirement:
- Time management skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Adobe and Qualtrics (or other online survey platforms)
- Experience in conducting research; creating questionnaires and analyzing survey results
- Good analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with creating promotional materials
Hourly rate: $16/hour
Marketing students in their 3rd/4th year and Indigenous students are encouraged to apply.
