Door & Lock Systems

Primary Responsibilities

The Locksmith Shop is responsible for the repair, replacement, and adjustment of damaged or defective components on all doors. In addition to installing high security locks, key control systems including keyless entry locks and hardware, the locksmith is responsible for inspection orders and replacement window installations on campus.

Additional Duties

  • Expansion of the master key system to accommodate the growth of departments, new departments and all new construction. See Key Control Policy.
  • Review of all door hardware drawings, schedules in order to provide hardware specifications for renovation and new construction projects. See Design and Construction Standards
  • Commissioning all renovations and new construction to ensure hardware is installed to manufacturer’s specifications. See Selection of Architects & Construction Consultants
  • Commissioning contractor related window and door replacements on Capital projects.
