Architectural Commissioning

Campus Construction Projects

The Facilities Department is responsible for design and maintenance standards for all campus construction projects. See Types of Capital Projects.

Architectural Commissioning is generally understood to mean technical architectural systems (building envelope and interior assemblies that are environmental separators) and further understood by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) to include commissioning of functional design intent of all planned spaces and relationships.

Project Phases

1. Reviewing design
  • See Design & Construction Standards
2. Commissioning projects
  • See Institutional Policies & Procedures: Selection of Architects & Construction Consultants
3. Inspecting construction
  • See Carpentry: Primary Responsibilities
