How To Apply

To be eligible for admission to the ISSC, you must meet the admission requirements for the program which are listed below. (*Always refer to the current academic calendar for the most up-to-date program information)

Applicants must have been enrolled in high school until grade twelve OR have been out of high school for at least one year and, at a minimum, hold credit for the following Alberta high school courses or their equivalents:

  • English Language Arts 20-1 or English Language Arts 30-2
  • Any three of:
    • Aboriginal Studies 20
    • Biology 20
    • Chemistry 20
    • One Fine Arts course:
      • Art 30 or Art 31
      • Dance 35
      • Drama 30
      • Choral Music 30, General Music 30, or Instrumental Music 30
    • Mathematics 20-1 or Mathematics 20-2
    • Physics 20
    • Science 20
    • Social Studies 20-1 or Social Studies 30-2
    • A 20-level language

**If you are applying out of province you will need to send a copy of your high school transcripts to our Admissions Office.


Online Application (Preferred method)

APPLY ONLINE .

  • Select the Lethbridge Campus,
  • then Single Degree Programs,
  • search Indigenous Student Success Certificate
  • Select it as your program.

Paper Application

An online application through the APAS system is preferred however, students can still submit a paper application.

PAPER APPLICATION

  • You will need your Alberta Student number to fill out your application. If you are applying from out of province you will need to have your transcripts sent to our Admissions Office, for more help contact the Learning Facilitator at 403-394-3990.
  • Students need to write Indigenous Student Success Certificate under the "University of Lethbridge Program of Study" in the "Program" section.

There is no application fee for this program.

Completed applications can be returned to the Office of the Registrar in person, via fax (403-329-5159) or by mail:

Enrolment in the ISSC is limited. Students may be contacted by the Admissions Office or the Faculty of Arts & Science if further information about their application is required. As admission is on a case by case basis please allow extra time for a response from the Admissions Office, if students wish to inquire about the application of their status they can contact the Admissions Office directly via email at admissions@uleth.ca. We encourage potential applicants to apply early.

Indigenous students are encouraged to reach out to the Nation/Tribe where they are registered members for inquiries about Post-secondary funding. Each Nation/Tribe has their own criteria for eligibility and deadlines for funding applications.
