What is the Indigenous Student Success Cohort?

The Indigenous Student Success Cohort (ISSC) assists incoming students, or students returning to university education after an absence, in making a smooth transition into life at the University of Lethbridge. By connecting Aboriginal and university cultures, this program aims to increase access to post-secondary education and completion rates for First Nations' students.

  • the fundamentals of library research and information gathering
  • the foundations of mathematics and computer use
  • the methods and applications of scientific research
  • the goals, methods, and ethics of social science inquiry
  • what it means to be a professional health provider
  • to examine human experience from a critical perspective
  • to stimulate your creativity
  • to integrate the wisdom of First Nations' culture into your program

How long is the program?

This is a two-semester (eight months) program. Successful completion of the program will help to transition you into most programs at the University of Lethbridge.
