Faculty and Staff Resources

As an instructor or staff member, you play a pivotal role in your students’ academic journey. At the Student Success Centre, we are here to support you in that partnership. Whether you notice a student struggling with study habits, time management, or motivation – or simply want to offer extra resources beyond the course content – we have a suite of services designed to amplify your impact and help students thrive.

Make a Student Referral

Use our simple Student Referral Form to connect students with the Student Success Centre. Just provide their name and email, and we’ll take care of the rest. It’s an easy way to ensure your students receive timely, personalized academic support.

How We Can Assist:

Study Skills Appointments

Refer students for one-on-one support with effective study strategies, note-taking styles, time management, study schedules, test-taking tips, navigating group work and more. Students can meet with a Peer Learning Mentor or, for more urgent support, contact jaime.takahashi@uleth.ca directly.

Workshops

Direct students to our current workshops or request one for your class. Presentations can range from 15 minutes to an hour, with topics tailored to your class.

Success Check-Ins

For students falling behind, encourage them to sign up for our success check-in’s. These regular mini meetings with a Peer Learning Mentor provide students with support to create to-do lists, assignment plans and stay on track for the semester.

Tutoring & Help Centres

Interested in tutoring support for your students? The Student Success Centre funds group tutoring sessions and drop-in help centres for a range of courses. Contact us to learn more.

(Of note: we do not provide a tutor matching service. If your student is looking to hire a tutor or become a private tutor, please direct them to the Nimbus Learning app; sponsored by the ULSU: https://www.studentsupport.ca/ulsu)

Student Success Events

Watch for pop-up events hosted throughout the semester. Examples include Study Café’s, Stress-Less pop-up tables, and Student Success Week. Have an idea for an event or partnership? Let us know!
