BERT LAMARR FAIRBANKS, loving Husband, Dad, Papa and Friend. Passed away suddenly and peacefully In his home on Sunday, January 2, 2000.

"And what is the crowning glory of man in this earth so far as his individual achievement is concerned? It is CHARACTER. Character development through obedience to the laws of life as revealed through Jesus Christ." This was his belief, his motto and how he lived each day of his life.

Bert was born April 30, 1935 in Raymond, Alberta.

Bert leaves his "Special Angel" of 41 years, Geraldine, his daughters: Tracy (Blair) Stringam, Lori (Jason) Orr, Becky (Roy) Stoddard, and Stephanie (Stephen) Maughan; 15 grandchildren: Brett. Royal, Jeremy, Bradley, Jordan, Joshua, Timothie, Colton, Christopher, Sarah, Michael, Amy, Braeden, Blake and Brookwynn. His siblings, Harold Jr. (Norma deceased), Lois (Cliff deceased) Peterson, Lee (Viv), Hazel (John) Holmes, Kathleen (Kay) Salmon, Deanna [Clark) Hardy and David (Sylvia). His father-in-!aw, J. Gerald Snow, His sisters-in-law: Glenna Fairbanks and Sandra Wilde.

Bert was predeceased by his father, Harold Fairbanks, his mother, Madge Stevenson Fairbanks, his brothers, George, Rulon, and his mother-in-law, Lisbeth Gehmlich Snow.

Bert lived a full and wonderful life. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern Australia. He had a passion for body building, self-improvement, a love of learning and a thirst for knowledge. He combined his interests to dedicate 3D years of teaching and instruction at the University of Lethbridge. His students were important to him and he had a genuine desire for them to succeed in his classes.

Bert loved his family and devoted a lifetime of quiet service. Love for his dear wife was evident in all he did and together this love has extended to their daughters and their families. He loved spending time with his family, taking his girls painting, going for walks, playing at the playground, playing tag, flying kites, all kinds of music, whistling, video taping important events, and family gatherings, reading a special story, writing special cards. bidding up the rook game; they were all cherished times with his family.

Bert lived a life of loyalty and integrity. He will always be remembered as a man of action, movement and continual growth. His wisdom gospel understanding enlightened us all; he wove his, knowledge 01 the gospel into every aspect of his life in a way that touched all he came in contact with. His influence will be missed. but never forgotten.

Funeral services was held on Wednesday, January 5. 2000 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lethbridge Stake Centre, 2410-28 Street South, Lethbridge with Bishop Darwin Earl officiating. Interment in Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.

In loving memory of Bert a tree was planted in the Lethbridge area by Christensen Salmon Funeral Home & Crematorium, Lethbridge.
