We are pleased to introduce the second issue of the Institute of Child and Youth Studies (I-CYS) newsletter. With the earliest signs of spring starting to appear around us, it seems an appropriate time for us to look back at what I-CYS has accomplished in the past year since our first AGM, and to look ahead to a number of exciting initiatives that are just getting underway. These include a new Postdoctoral opportunity at the University of Lethbridge and an upcoming workshop on the theme of “Risk and Resilience.” We are also looking ahead to the second Mapping the Landscapes of Childhood Conference, to take place in Lethbridge in 2015. Stay tuned for more information about the conference in the coming months! Details will be posted on the I-CYS Website as they become available. We hope that you will be able to join us in some of our upcoming ventures.

If you have your own news or announcements that you would like to have published in the newsletter, we would love to hear from you! The newsletter will be issued periodically throughout the year and, in keeping with the mandate of I-CYS, it aims to foster dialogue and enquiry across a range of disciplines connected to the study of children and youth. Please feel free to distribute widely to others who may be interested in I-CYS.
