Organized by the Horns Recreation staff and student employees, the Co-Ed Intramurals programs are designed to increase opportunities for active living and social engagement. Every member of the Horns Family is encouraged to participate within these programs!

Horns Recreation offers Fall and Winter Co-Ed Intramural sports consisting of 3x3 Basketball, Basketball, Futsal, Dodgeball, Ice Hockey, Indoor Soccer and Volleyball. Make sure to keep updated with Horns Recreation as new special events and tournaments may become available!

Registration Dates:

The Registration period for FALL LEAGUE is from Monday, September 8, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. to Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 11:55 p.m.
FALL LEAGUE runs from September 15, 2025 to December 4, 2025

How To Register & Create A Team

Whether you are a Team Captain or a Free Agent, we have a place for you. Team Captains will be eligible to register a team with their sport of interest.  Horns Recreation will provide Free Agents the opportunity to register in our programs where you will join a team of participants like yourselves.

All captains and participants (*Free Agents, see below steps) are required to have an Intramural Membership specific to the Intramural sport they wish to participate in. This membership is your player fee and must be paid for each individual sport you register in. Our programs are now a per player fee and not a team fee.

What is a Captain? Good question, you are the leader of your team, the beacon they look to when things get tough. You provide pep talks and transform your group into a cohesive unit, a force to be reckoned with on your collective way to glory.  Most importantly, you are the individual who registers your team, invites players to be on your team, and manages your roster and team for the season.

Step 1: Sign up for your sport specific Intramural Membership.

  • Find your desired sport Intramural Membership, select Membership Duration and then Add to Cart.
  • Check out to make your payment.

Step 2: Register your account on the FusionPlay app.

  • If you haven't already, make sure you download the FusionPlay app.
  • Select Canada as the region on the bottom of the screen.
  • Click sign-in and input your ULethbridge email address and password.
    • For NON-STUDENTS click 'Create Account' and input ULethJustPlay  for the organization code.
    • Select 'Other Sign-In Options' and click 'Continue with Google'.

Step 3: Creating a Team in the FusionPlay app -

  • Open the FusionPlay app
  • Use this pdf for complete instructions: Fusion How to Guide
  • Once you've found a league and a division that you want to play in, click the '+' located in the bottom right corner of your screen.
  • Click 'Create a team'
  • Name your team and upload an image and a description.
  • Indicate if you are a player on the team or if you'd like to be designated as team 'Manager'.
    • *Please note, if you are not a team Manager, you can only appear on one roster per league.
  • Once your team is created you'll be able to view your team and begin sharing team invitations.
    • *Please note, if the league you are signing up for has roster requirements, your team will be put into a pending state until you've met the requirements set by your organizations admin (you'll still be able to view and see information about your team here).
  • Team minimums:
    • * If the minimum team requirement is not met, Horns Recreation reserves the right to cancel the league. In such cases, a full refund will be issued.
    • * Teams must meet the minimum player requirement to be considered for entry. Any team that fulfills this requirement will be automatically accepted into the league, with priority given to those that meet the minimum first. Teams that fall short of the minimum will remain in the queue until the requirement is met. However, if all available spots are filled by teams meeting the minimum, teams that do not qualify will unfortunately not be admitted this season.

Have you been approached by a Captain to Join their team?  If yes, then this is the process you need to follow to make that intramural dream come true. If you have not been approached by a team, but still want to play an intramural sport, you clicked a little early, you want to select the dropdown "HOW TO JOIN A TEAM if you do not have a Team - FREE AGENTS"

Step 1: Sign up for your sport specific  Intramural Membership

Step 2: Wait for your TEAM CAPTAIN to send you an invite to join the team.

Step 3: Sign up for your account on the FusionPlay app.

Step 4: Accept the invite

  • Once you open your invite, you will complete the waivers. When this information is complete, you will appear in the Captain's “Roster” tab and then your team’s captain, co-captain or manager can finalize you spot on the team

What is a Free Agent Team? Good question, if you do not have a group of people that want to create a team, but you want to play in one of our Intramural sports. You can sign up as a Free Agent and we will create a team full of keen folks like yourself. Don't miss out on the fun.

Step 1: Register for your sport specific Free Agent fee on the Horns Recreation website (Do not purchase an intramural membership, one will be assigned to you once you have paid your Free Agent fee.)

Step 2: Sign up for your account on the FusionPlay app.

Step 3: The Team Manager (scott.whiteside@uleth.ca) will monitor registration and send you an invite, with 24hours, to join the Free Agent Team via the FusionPlay app, once you accept your invite you will be added to the roster.

Expectations

All participants are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship, fair play and abide by all rules of the intramural activity. Remember that it is a “privilege” to participate in Intramurals, don't let it be taken away from you.

Team Name Policy

Horns Recreation respects the rights of all students, staff and faculty, to learn, work and exercise in an environment free of discriminatory, inappropriate, and disrespectful conduct or communication. Therefore, Horns Recreation reserves the right to disallow any team name that we feel is unacceptable.

When choosing your team name, please ensure it is chosen in good taste and does not promote intolerance or degrade individuals or groups. We ask that all team names not contain profanity, racial slurs, sexual innuendo, or other words that may be offensive or otherwise degrading in nature.

In the event we choose to remove a team name we will change the team name to the captain’s name until a suitable replacement name is provided. Once the league begins your team name is still subject to change if any concerns are raised over its intended nature.
