Please review the important information below to prepare for the upcoming term.

 

FALL REGISTRATION 

Once accepted offers are confirmed, you will be automatically registered in the PS I Placeholder course (EDUC 3599). 

Important! Accepting your offer means you may be required to travel or temporarily relocate for practicum placements within Zone 6 (Southern Alberta) or the Calgary area.

PS I Town Hall Meeting

Monday, April 27, 2026 
4 – 5 p.m. 
Online (Zoom) 

This informal meeting will introduce you to the Faculty of Education and provide an overview of what to expect this Fall. A zoom link will be sent closer to the date of the event. 

 
PS I Student Information Form submission 

TBA – June
 

We build your PS I schedule based on the information that you provide on this form 

 
PS I Orientation Session (Mandatory)

Tuesday, Sept. 8 
9 – 10 a.m. 
W500 University Theatre 

Students must attend in person. 

 
PS I Teaching Seminar (Mandatory)

Tuesday, Sept. 8 
Afternoon
On campus (TBD)

Students must attend in person.

Important program information will only be sent to your uleth.ca email account. 

✔ Check it regularly 
✔ Read messages carefully 
✔ Save Faculty emails for reference 

Tip: When contacting Student Program Services, include your Student ID number to help us respond faster.

 
Program planning

After Degree Students who meet any of the following conditions will receive an individual Program Planning Guide (PPG): 

✔ Have major course deficiencies 
✔ Have received a waiver for EDUC 2500 
✔ Completed EDUC 2500 within their first degree 

All other students (Combined degree and After-Degree) should follow their current Program Planning Guide (PPG) for their specific program requirements.

Attendance expectations

Students must: 
✔ Be available for classes starting Tuesday, September 8 (afternoon) 
✔ Be available Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM 
✔ Attend Culmination Day in December (date TBD)  

Unexcused absences and/or failure to attend Culmination Day may result in withdrawal from the program. 

Reading breaks may vary depending on your school division calendar. Although the university reading break is November 9–14, student teachers must attend practicum on designated school operational days. 

Please avoid scheduling travel during practicum.

Quick FAQ

In June, you will receive a PS I Information Form. This form helps us create your schedule, so please complete it carefully and honestly. 

Your schedule and registration instructions will be emailed on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026

Please wait for instructions before ordering textbooks.

Yes — but do not apply yet. 

Full instructions will be provided during the PS I Orientation Session. 

Your police check must be valid within three months of the practicum start date (November).

Schedules cannot be finalized until all forms are received. We will then use the summer months to plan out schedules. 

Students must be available: 

Monday to Friday 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
