Job Posting: Innovation Zone Student Support Assistant

Agility Innovation Zone Student Support Assistant

Agility is a multidisciplinary program at the University of Lethbridge that fosters an environment of creative discovery and innovation. Agility nurtures entrepreneurial thinking through training and supports for early-start entrepreneurs, as well as assisting with commercialization of research to market.  

 

The Innovation Zone provides University of Lethbridge students and employees access to emerging technologies and other high-tech makerspace equipment, as well as offering workshops, hackathons, and other events. The goal of this space is to provide our students and University community with hands on learning experiences to help them develop skills in creativity, problem solving, resilience, and adaptability to allow them to keep pace with an evolving labour market. 

 

The Agility Innovation Zone is hiring for the Fall 2025 semester. The Innovation Zone Student Support Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of duties and tasks, including: 

  • day-to-day operations of the Innovation Zone makerspace 

  • ensuring all users of the Innovation Zone are welcomed, trained, and supported in their work 

  • cultivating an open and inclusive environment for University of Lethbridge students, employees, and community members 

  • participating in the delivery of programs (workshops, class visits, tours and events) 

  • maintaining a safe, clean and organized workspace 

  • continuing to develop skills and knowledge on different pieces of equipment 

 

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications: 

  • Current University of Lethbridge student  

  • Friendly and people-centred 

  • Knowledgeable in various areas of makerspace technology 

  • Responsible and reliable 

  • Proactive and diligent 

  • Able to train users in safe and proper use of equipment  

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills 

  • Willingness to learn and adapt 

  • Attention to detail and protocol 

 

Position Type: Part-Time (3-10 hours per week) 

 

Rate of pay: $17.20/h
