The University of Lethbridge respects each person’s right to make their own decisions regarding their personal recovery after experiencing sexual violence.

There are many places to seek support and information on campus. These include:

Sexual Violence Prevention Educator

The educator can provide information to campus community members as they explore their options after experiencing an incident of Sexual Violence. We can provide referrals for on and off campus support services, information about reporting options, and information and assistance in making an informed decision about next steps.

Campus Safety: Security Services

Available to provide information or answer questions about safety concerns reporting options.  University of Lethbridge Campus Security Services is available 24 hours to respond to an incident of Sexual Violence.

UofL Counselling Services (UofL Students)

Counsellors are available to provide support and therapeutic processing of traumatic experiences. They can also provide information and care to individuals who may be supporting a survivor of sexual violence.

Medical staff available to provide STI treatment, pregnancy prevention, and injury care as well as information related to physical well-being

Campus Collective Centre

Provides peer support, advocacy and safe space for survivors of sexual violence and their allies.

Iniskim Elders

Two Blackfoot Elders, Francis First Charger and Carolla Calf Robe, are on campus one full day each week throughout the fall and spring semesters (September to April). Both Francis and Carolla are from the Blood Tribe, the largest First Nations reserve in Canada. Through traditional teachings and story-telling, they offer guidance, cultural support, and encouragement to the campus community. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome and invited to meet with them.

While on campus, Francis and Carolla can be found in the Smudge/Elders Room, A-430 (University Hall) next to the Native American Students’ Association lounge. Their schedule is posted and sent out on Eaglesnest at the beginning of each semester

Provides support and options for students living in residence.

Off Campus

  • Lethbridge Police: can provide information about filing a criminal report 403-328-4444 
  • Chinook Regional Hospital Emergency Department : can provide emergency medical care, STI testing, pregnancy prevention as well as access to the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) 403-388-6111
  • Sexual Health Centre (up to age 24): can provide STI testing, pregnancy prevention, information related to sexual health  403-320-0110
  • The YWCA's Amethyst program provides emotional support, referrals and clear information about off campus reporting options
  • Lethbridge Family Services provides counselling support for survivors of sexual violence, sliding scale fee rate is available.
