Lethbridge Support Resources

The Lethbridge food bank can provide bread and produce up to three times a week and a grocery hamper once per month. To access this resource you would be required to provide the following items:

  • Identification of each person in the home (Drivers License, Birth Certificate, AHC Card for all family members)
  • Correct address/phone number/birthdates of each person in the home
  • Proof of income (SFI, AISH, CPP, OAS, DIS, EI, Child Tax, Child Support, Alimony, Student Loan, Wages)
  • Proof of expenses (Daycare, Alimony, Child Support, Rent/Sub, Mortgage/House Tax, Utilities)

Once you have met guidelines, you will be given a 3 month or 6 month card. When your card expires, you will need to re-qualify by bringing the paperwork listed above. They are located at 1016 2nd Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0C9. You can learn more here.

The Lethbridge Interfaith Food Bank can provide monthly hampers with daily grocery supplements. To access this resource you would be required to provide the following items:

  • Photo ID (for adults 18+)
  • AB Health Care Cards (for all household members)
  • Proof of Income (child tax benefits, AISH or SA slips, pay stub, EI statement, etc.)
  • Proof of Address (rent receipt, utility, phone or cable bill, etc.)

For each visit, clients must bring their Client Card, and when picking up the monthly food hamper, photo identification is required. Client Cards typically expire every six months. They are located at 1103 3 Ave N, Lethbridge, AB. You can find more information here.

The Lethbridge Family centre provides adult cooking classes at:

  • Mondays 1:00-3:00pm
  • Tuesdays & Fridays 9:30-11:30am
  • Thursdays Zoom class 1:00-2:30pm (ingredient package & link provided prior to class)

At the Lethrbidge soup kitchen, meals are prepared and served almost entirely by volunteer church groups. Hot meals are served Monday through Saturday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. They are located at 802 2 Ave N, Lethbridge, AB T1H 2V9, Canada. To learn more you can call 4033208688 or go here.

At the First B Soup Kitchen, they make and serve lunch to those in need on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. They are located at 1614 5 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0W3, Canada. To learn more you can call 4033272082 or go here.

MyCityCare provides hampers and lunch programs for kids. No identification, proof of income or qualifying requirements. Must contact them and talk to a MyCityCare representative. Requests taken on a case-by-case basis and some locations may ask additional questions or require a follow-up. They are located at 511 5 Ave S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 0T9, Canada. Meals on Wheels (MOW) provides home delivery of hot, nutritious noon-day meals by caring volunteers to clients in need up to five days a week. Frozen meals for the weekend can be delivered with Friday’s meal. You may qualify for MOW if you are in your own home with short term or long term difficulties preparing daily nutritious meals (ie. disabilities, illness or injury) and are not able to access groceries or healthy meals in local community centers or through family or other community support. You must be a resident of the City of Lethbridge to qualify for Meals on Wheels. To learn more you can call 4033277990 or go here.
