Cultural & Faith Supports

On Campus

Iniskim Elders

Two Blackfoot Elders, Francis First Charger and Carolla Calf Robe, are on campus one full day each week throughout the fall and spring semesters (September to April). Both Francis and Carolla are from the Blood Tribe, the largest First Nations reserve in Canada. Through traditional teachings and story-telling, they offer guidance, cultural support, and encouragement to the campus community. All students, faculty, and staff are welcome and invited to meet with them.

While on campus, Francis and Carolla can be found in the Smudge/Elders Room, A-430 (University Hall) next to the Native American Students’ Association lounge. Their schedule is posted and sent out on Eaglesnest at the beginning of each semester

For more information phone 403-329-2369 or email fng@uleth.ca

The International Centre

The International Centre can help students connect with relevant cultural resources and services in the community.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
