YWCA: Harbour House Women's Emergency Shelter

YWCA Harbour House is a 30-bed crisis unit for women and children who are involved in abusive intimate partner relationships.

Abuse may be physical, emotional, financial or sexual in nature. Harbour House families are provided accommodations for a maximum of 21 days, with staff available for counselling and support 24 hours a day. They provide women and children with free education sessions on the impact of family violence on children; the cycle and dynamics of violence; and safety planning.

SVAC is a standing committee of professionals dedicated to providing leadership, coordination and a unified voice on issues related to sexual violence in southwestern Alberta.

YWCA Amethyst Project

The Amethyst Project focuses on education, training, advocacy, support and awareness to address both sexual violence and intimate partner violence.

There are different ways that one can access services, either through hospital/police referrals, through our office phone number or in person, and through education and training.

In the hospital, the Amethyst Project provides three different courses of action that one can take directly following a sexual assault. The Amethyst Project provides emotional support and referrals to other agencies in the community until they no longer need our services.

Lethbridge Victim Services is a police-based victim assistance program that provides information, support, and referrals to victims and witnessed of crime or tragedy in Lethbridge. Volunteer advocates are first responders who provide practical support during the first few critical hours after a crime or tragedy

Taber Safe Haven Women's Shelter Society

24/7 CRISIS LINE: 403-223-0483

Provides a safe place for women and children who are affected by domestic violence and abuse. From a trauma-informed approach, they use a community-based response to bring together health, education, criminal justice, law enforcement, and community agencies in providing direct services.
