Taking Notes

Taking good lecture notes is an essential skill for university students to have. Exam preparations rely heavily on having good notes. We can give you advice on how to improve the quality of the notes you take as well as show you how to effectively use those notes to retain the most amount of information.

One of the most effective methods for taking notes is the Cornel note-taking model. Cornell Notes.pdf

The key to this model is reviewing and editing your notes within 24 hours after class and at the end of the week. Constant review helps move the notes from the short-term memory to long-term memory.

We also offer presentations throughout the semester, including Effective Note Taking. The list of presentations is available on our Events Calendar. Here is a PDF of the presentation on Effective note-taking.
