COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT
Multi-media Graphic Designer/Video Producer/Writer

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting in all aspects of Faculty of Education multi-media communications strategies and projects, including hands on production and graphic design of print, video, social media, website, electronic monitors, photography, and writing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in designing and producing art and copy for material to be presented by various communications mediums, such as magazines, newspapers, video (production for external and internal purposes), audio, electronic sources
  • Designs media in a wide variety of styles that correspond to the project need
  • Adheres to budget and time constraints
  • Some writing skills for articles and copywriting

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrollment in Bachelor’s Degree or Certificate Program from University of Lethbridge or Lethbridge College required
  • Some work experience in the graphics design, multi-media production field an asset
  • Understanding of video production (camera and edit suite), printing process, photography, and typography preferred
  • Computer skill essentials include: Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro) Optional: Microsoft Office

COMMUNICATION ABILITY

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to administrators and other employees of the organization.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense communications and graphic design understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to creatively problem-solving in relation to communications. Attention to detail.
