The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) Professional Development is an initiative by the University of Lethbridge to provide students with the opportunities needed to succeed in their future careers.
The SGS Professional Development's optional events, workshops, and other resources complement your degree, helping you identify and develop a robust transferable skill set. We believe that every student's needs and experiences are unique, so we encourage you to identify your gaps and what skills you need to improve and develop.
SGS Professional Development offers opportunities to gain professional skills that support a solid foundation for employment and workforce success in any industry. You can receive experiential education credit for many SGS Professional Development opportunities on the My Experience Transcript, giving you a competitive edge in the workforce. The professional skills framework utilized by the School of Graduate Studies was researched and development by the Canadian Association of Graduate Studies (CAGS) and works to support a national standard and language for professional skills.
SGS Professional Development has partnered with multiple on and off-campus organizations to allow graduate students access to a rich and diverse set of resources and experiences. There’s no right or wrong time to develop or build any of these skills. Begin your professional development journey today!

CARMA
The CARMA Video Library currently contains on-demand access to over 200 recorded lectures from internationally recognized scholars on a variety of research methods. The recordings enhance knowledge and application of research methods by providing a basis for discussion and debate.
Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion
The Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) is a national charity established in 2013 with the mandate of building a more inclusive Canada, as part of that mandate training in various areas of EDI is offered to scholars at ULethbridge to support their research.

The Credit Counselling Society is an accredited non-profit charity that helps Canadians with their money, providing free and confidential financial advice.
