Chair's Welcome

Welcome to the Department of History at the University of Lethbridge. Although small, our department offers a diverse range of courses, from the history of ancient Greece and Rome to European dictatorships of the twentieth century. The courses we offer do not simply focus upon political history, but also deal with such broader themes as gender, religion, and science, to name only a few examples. Our faculty are internationally recognized for their research in such areas as Soviet medicine, medieval warfare and violence, the history of the family in medieval Scotland, and society in the antebellum South. We as a department are confident that the courses we offer, as well as our diverse areas of expertise, will offer something of interest to everyone interested in studying History at the University of Lethbridge.
