A Space Classification System (SCS) is an organizational reference structure that describes space attributes. The University of Lethbridge SCS is patterned after other institutions and aligns with the Government of Alberta’s own system. The SCS is organized across 16 space categories (for classroom, laboratory, office, study, special use, etc.) which describe the measure of our facilities. Many of our planning documents also align our space inventory to the structure created under the Council of Ontario Universities (COU) space classification system accepted by institutions across Canada.
