Ideas or concepts come from anywhere across the University. Often the intention of an idea is to enhance a program or a function of the University that potentially translates into a need for new construction or renovation work. In order to be implemented successfully, the initial idea needs to be developed, be proven feasible and become a supported project.
As Facilities plans and manages campus assets and space resources, a clear Project Delivery Process is integral when an aspect of the Vision has impacts on existing space (i.e. proposed modifications to existing space assets) or requires the creation of new facilities (including changes to programming, etc.).
A Project Delivery Process advances ideas toward an institutionally supported and concise "Vision" developed in consensus with leadership and managed within the institution where key resources and expertise resides. Often external consultants are procured in order to assist and implement project work.
