Who We Are

Pamela Adams was born in Southern Alberta and received her Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees from the University of Lethbridge. After 17 years teaching experience, Pamela was seconded to the Faculty of Education at The University of Lethbridge in 1995 and, two years later appointed to the faculty. She teaches a variety of courses in the graduate and undergraduate programs, and has supervised pre-service students in four separate practica. Pamela has extensive experience in curriculum development and student assessment. Her research interests include adult and higher education, faculty and staff development, program and system evaluation, leadership and school improvement, and action research. Pamela is currently completing doctoral studies at the University of Calgary.

David Townsend was born in Sydney, Australia where he attended Armidale Teacher's College and taught for six years in New South Wales before moving to Canada in 1967. He worked for several years as a classroom teacher, vice principal, and principal. Later, David was employed as a visiting professor at The University of Lethbridge, an assistant superintendent of schools, a researcher, and educational consultant with the provincial government. He has been a member of the Faculty of Education at The University of Lethbridge since 1985.

David holds an undergraduate degree in political science, an M.S. degree in special education, and a Ph.D. in teacher education from the University of Oregon. His research and scholarship interests include roles and responsibilities of principals, school improvement and change, teacher development, mentorship, staff and program evaluation, and action research.
