Chris Dabbs

My research interests revolve around the mental health and ecological systems realities of identity-based stigma and bias. I'm interested in how the interactions
between the social perceptions of minoritized people (particularly autistic people and the non-religious), our systems (e.g., psychotherapy, education, employment,
law), and human outcomes (mental health, educational attainment, etc.). I ask questions like:
1) Why are universities largely unwelcoming to autistic students?
2) Are therapists prejudiced against atheist and non-religious clients?
3) What do mental health clinicians think about changing federal autism policies?
4) What is it like to be queer and involved in religious community?
I approach the above questions, and more, using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
