Illuminating Opportunities

Illuminating Opportunities

The University of Lethbridge aims to elevate the social culture and recreational opportunities of our community, empowering citizens to build connections through participation, volunteerism and intellectual exploration.

Your gifts enable the University to provide an opportunity-rich, immersive learning environment, where students are supported at every stage of their academic journey and take their learning outside the classroom. For community members, the U of L is a place of infinite possibilities, from sports and recreation, to fine arts performances and talks, courses, camps for children and a wide range of activities to suit all ages, abilities and interests.

Your support is an investment in all of southern Alberta, creating bright opportunities for students and community members.

Our outreach inititatives like Let's Talk Science and Destination Exploration provide youth with positive, interactive, educational and social learning experiences that promote science, technology, teamwork and leadership. Reaching more than 4,500 in Lethbridge and surrounding areas each year, these programs delivers interactive classroom workshops, exciting camps, engaging Friday after-school science clubs, birthday parties and numerous other outreach events.

Thanks to donor support, a transdisciplinary team, including University of Lethbridge researchers from the Faculties of Education and Health Sciences, graduate students and a local judge, are working together to use chess as part of a unique youth sentencing initiative and are making a positive impact on the community.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
