Parkinson Canada Doctoral Fellowship

To be used to conduct research in Parkinson's disease at an Alberta-based University. Research can be basic or clinical.

Value:

  • $50,000 for one year

Eligibility:

  • Open to Canadian, permanent residents and international PhD students.
  • Candidate must have already completed a MSc or PhD graduate program
  • Biosketch of Applicant (NIH format preferred)
  • Biosketch of Supervisor (NIH format preferred)
  • Project Description (maximum three pages), including the following sections:
    • Background and rationale
    • Research objectives
    • Research methodology
    • Project timeline (covering activities to be completed within the one-year award period)
    • Projected impact
  • Description of Supervisor Resources and Support (maximum one page):
    • Detailed overview of local resources supporting the feasibility of the proposed research within the award period
    • For clinical fellows, an outline of clinical responsibilities and workload
  • Lay Summary of the Project (500–900 words)

Application Deadline:

  • The deadline for application is Friday, March 20, 2026 and awards will be announced by June 1, 2026.
