 This scholarship is awarded on behalf of Mr. Gary Pruden, who believes in maintaining with the traditions of our rich and vibrant Métis music, as well as supporting students who pursue a future in sports. Gary has worked diligently and helped fund-raise to make this scholarship available. We wish to honour Gary for his contributions to our communities by awarding scholarships to students pursuing music and/or sports education opportunities. The scholarships are open to all Indigenous students, with a preference to Métis students who are enrolled in post-secondary training programs. The scholarship will be awarded at the Metis Week Gala, held in November each year. The recipients are expected to receive their award in person that evening. Students may apply for this scholarship or may be nominated. The recipients will be chosen by a selection committee of representatives from the Pruden family and MNA representatives. A tax receipt (T4A) will be forwarded to the recipient.
