Igniting Minds

Having a population of citizens who can think clearly and carefully about issues, assess evidence and impact, and communicate core values is essential to a free and democratic society.

By fostering free inquiry and the critical interpretation of ideas, uLethbridge's unique approach to liberal education creates a better understanding of experiences and empathy for those around us. This helps our students become global citizens who think critically, communicate thoughtfully, respect creativity and act in ways that better the world around them.

Your support helps create scholarships and programming, and your leadership teaches by example.

After the Syrian refugee crisis erupted, a group of uLethbridge students joined efforts to form a World University Service Canada committee; in only four months, they elected an executive and raised $26,000 to bring a refugee student to the University beginning in Fall 2016. Since then, these students have gone on to make this charitable endeavour a permanent program at the University. With support from the student body, a small fee was added to tuition each semester, which will bring a refugee student to our campus each year.

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
