Dr. Greg Ogilvie
Associate Professor
About
Dr. Greg Ogilvie views himself as a teacher first and foremost. He is passionate about working in teacher education to shape future generations of teachers. Outside of work, most of Greg's time is spent with his wife and two boys, and he is very involved with the local speed skating community.
Teaching Interests
Greg's primary teaching interests revolve around second language education. He teaches courses for French and Spanish majors and students who are interested in working with English language learners. He is a major advocate of task-based language teaching and encourages students to create linguistically and culturally responsive classroom environments. Greg is also interested in promoting a critical lens on education to problematize taken-for-granted norms and advocate for social justice. That is one reason why he really enjoys teaching Social Context.
Research Interests
Greg's primary research interests fit into three areas: 1) supervision during field experiences, 2) wellness in education, and 3) second language education.
