Professional Semester II: Music Majors Spring 2023

Hello Professional Semester II Music Majors!

We are excited to be coordinating your upcoming PS II practicum placement for the Spring 2023 semester. 

In an attempt to align student's music background, knowledge, and abilities with the available practicum opportunities in the field, we are asking students in the music cohort to please take a moment to answer the questions in the enclosed questionnaire. The information you provide will allow us to get to know you a little better, and will inform the decisions in relation to your upcoming field placement.

PLEASE NOTE: we will endeavour to coordinate a practicum placement that matches a student's preferences whenever possible. However, there are many factors that influence decisions surrounding field placements. As a result, student preferences cannot always be guaranteed.

Please indicate two or three music classroom settings (Choral, Guitar, Jazz, Digital, Band, etc.) you would be most interested in for your placement. Feel free to list them in order of preference numerically, i.e. 1 = 1st choice, 2 = 2nd choice, etc.
Additional Information
We endeavour to place Professional Semester II students in their subject major, and in particular, within an area that aligns with their skills and abilities. Feel free to indicate any classroom environments you would be highly uncomfortable teaching (i.e. areas in music that you are not familiar with). This can include specific musical settings like choral or guitar, but also specific atmospheres such as excellence-/festival-oriented performance classes or less-structured classroom environments.
