Dining Plan Options

Choose the plan that is right for you!

All food items are individually priced - just like a restaurant! You only pay for what you select. Dining Plans are accepted in every one of CHARTWELLS’ six locations, so you choose where you want to dine. The amount of time you spend on campus and the types of foods you regularly consume are important criteria in choosing the right sized plan.

Dining Plan Rates (2025-2026)

Our most popular plan is designed for students who are off campus most weekends and those with average appetites. This plan has both base and flex dollars.

BASE DOLLARSTBA
FLEX DOLLARSTBA
TOTAL COST$4,850

Appropriate for students on campus alternate weekends and those with larger appetites. This plan has both base and flex dollars.

BASE DOLLARSTBA
FLEX DOLLARSTBA
TOTAL COST$5,625

Available for those students NOT on the mandatory Dining Plan. Provides convenience and value for daytime dining, and vending purchases. This plan is flex dollars ONLY.

FLEX DOLLARS$2,300
TOTAL COST$2,300

NOTE: This plan is for continuing students only.

The Commuter and Standard Dining Plans have two key components: Base Dollars and Flex Dollars.

Base Dollars allow you to purchase food from all Chartwells-operated dining outlets on campus. Base Dollar purchases are tax-free.

  • Base Dollars are non-refundable. After May 1st, any remaining Base Dollars will be transferred into Flex Dollars.

Flex Dollars allow you to purchase food from any Chartwells-operated dining outlet on campus, buy food via the After Hour's residence delivery program, and purchase at most Snack & Beverage vending machines on campus. All purchases are taxable (GST).

  • Flex Dollars are no risk. Any Flex Dollars remaining at the end of the Academic Year will remain active on your student account for the duration of your time at the University of Lethbridge.

GUIDELINES

  • These are only general guidelines and do not necessarily apply to every student.
  • All plans are due and payable by August 30.
  • Base Dollars can be used at retail food outlets.
  • Flex Dollars can be used at retail food outlets, and vending machines.
  • Students on a mandatory Dining Plan may select either the Commuter or Standard Plan.
