Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions for the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Student Survey!
Beginning October 23, 2023, and until November 30, 2023, all students enrolled at the University of Lethbridge will have an opportunity to respond to the EDI Student Survey. This survey is intended to help the EDI Office better understand the demographic diversity and feelings of inclusion of the ULethbridge student community. The results from this survey will help us to develop approaches to build a more equitable, diverse, inclusive, safe, and accessible campus for all.
Please check your ULethbridge student email on October 23 to receive your EDI Student Survey link. You will have a period of six weeks to complete the survey. The survey can only be accessed through your email link.
Reminder emails will be sent on November 6, 20 and 27.

We want to better understand the demographic diversity and feelings of inclusion of the student community at the University of Lethbridge. The answers will allow us to develop data-driven strategies and relevant approaches to building an equitable, diverse, inclusive, safe, and accessible campus for all. The Survey is available to complete between October 23 and Nov 30, 2023. You may use any communications device (desktop, laptop, tablet, cellphone) to access it via the email link that will be sent to you.
All students at the University of Lethbridge are invited to participate and will receive an email invitation from the Office of Institutional Analysis (analysis@uleth.ca) that contains a link to the survey.
Your participation is extremely important since it will allow the University to have a representative and accurate picture of the student population, something that will allow us to develop data-driven strategies and relevant approaches to building an equitable, diverse, inclusive, safe, and accessible campus for all.
As a token of appreciation, upon completion of the survey you will be eligible for optional participation in a draw to win the grand prize of an Apple iPad, or one of 10 ULethbridge Bookstore gift vouchers valued at $25 each. The information provided for the purposes of entry into the prize draw will be kept separate from responses captured in the survey.
Participation is voluntary. You can skip any of the diversity and inclusion questions you are not comfortable answering by choosing the “Prefer not to answer” option.
The survey is confidential. The survey does not ask for any personally identifiable information and only aggregated results will be shared or used in reports.
The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Student Survey explores a variety of topics, including basic demographic information, identity dimensions (for example, racial and cultural background, gender identity, disability and accommodation, and others), experience of discrimination and harassment as a student, your feelings of inclusion at the University, and a few general questions about your well-being. At the end of the survey, there is also an opportunity to enter comments related to any of the topics covered in this survey.
The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Student Survey is a project led by the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Office at the University of Lethbridge, and it has been implemented in close collaboration with the Office of Institutional Analysis. The survey was developed over several months in consultation with different members of the university community across campus including student associations.

The data will be managed by the Office of Institutional Analysis in close collaboration with the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Office. It will be used to inform the University of Lethbridge strategies, projects, initiatives, and interventions related to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
We are committed to transparency in relation to the survey results, and a summary of the results will be shared in town halls and presentations with different groups within the university community.
