“I am immensely fortunate to have been a recipient of this bursary, which not only eased the financial burden of post-secondary education but also enabled me to attend my first conference and continue investing in the unique opportunities available to me as a student in this department. Perhaps the most rewarding of these has been an internship in partnership with Vulcan County, using remote sensing and GIS to identify potential unmarked graves and create spatial databases for rural cemeteries. This project has strengthened my passion for applying geographic information science at the intersection of the natural and human worlds.”
