The Privacy Office is responsible for the administration of Alberta's Access to Information Act (ATIA) and Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) at the University of Lethbridge. The Office advises on the implications of access and privacy legislation and implements mechanisms to ensure compliance with the law.

The Privacy Office responds to requests for access to University records, appeals to the Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) from access decisions, and represents the University at IPC mediations and adjudications. The Office addresses issues related to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information and responds to privacy complaints.

The Privacy Office also acts as a resource for members of the University community in the areas of access to records and protection of personal information.
