Carolyn Herrington

Carolyn Herrington is a pianist, teacher and vocal coach based in Lethbridge, Alberta. She is a certified Royal Conservatory of Music Piano instructor (early, intermediate and advanced specialist) and Theory instructor to students at the University of Lethbridge Conservatory of Music. She has prepared many students for RCM practical piano exams and theory exams of all levels. She has been an adjudicator for music festivals and for Conservatory Canada exams. Dr. Herrington has several years of experience as a university instructor, having taught courses in introductory history and theory, collaborative piano, and studio piano at the University of Lethbridge, and courses in chamber music, vocal repertoire, collaborative piano, and studio piano at Western University in London, Ontario.

Carolyn is proud to have earned a doctorate in Collaborative Piano from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Martin Katz, and an M. Mus in Collaborative Piano from Western University, where she studied with John Hess.

Drawing on her extensive experience with art song, opera and diction of several languages, Carolyn works as a freelance vocal coach, and frequently performs with vocal and instrumental students and professionals in Lethbridge and the surrounding area. Carolyn also plays for several choirs in Lethbridge, both at the University and at the Conservatory of music. Carolyn is a founding member of FOURtitude, a group dedicated to performing piano ensemble repertoire.

Fees*:

  • 30-Minute Lessons:  $132 (Monthly) or $1,056 (Lump Sum)
  • 45-Minute Lessons: $198 (Monthly) or $1,584 (Lump Sum)
  • 60 Minute Lessons: $264 (Monthly) or $2,112 (Lump Sum)

*The above lump sum ranges are based on 32 weeks of lessons over the course of September - May, but can be pro-rated for students starting late in the term.
