Alayna McNeil (Violin)

Alayna McNeil recently graduated from her Master of Music degree in performance at the University of Denver, Lamont School of Music. She received her Bachelor of Music from the University of Lethbridge, where she was honoured to receive the Faculty of Fine Arts Gold Medal upon graduating. Alayna is the winner of the 2022 Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra’s RBC Foundation Young Artist Competition, and she was a featured guest soloist with the orchestra in 2023. In 2019 Alayna won the Rose Bowl award for the Most Artistic and Outstanding Performer in the Lethbridge Music Festival.

An avid performer of chamber and orchestral music, Alayna has enjoyed collaborating and performing with musicians in Canada, the US, and the UK. Alayna is a regular performer with the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra, and in Denver she has played as co-concertmaster of both the Lamont Symphony Orchestra and the Bow Art Chamber Orchestra. In addition to the Lethbridge-based Con Brio Piano Trio, Alayna has enjoyed being a part of the Centric Music Fest String Quartet for the past two years.

Alayna has loved teaching private and group violin lessons for the past six years. She is certified in Suzuki Violin Pedagogy through level 4, and she combines Suzuki and RCM pedagogy in her teaching. Alayna loves connecting with each of her students while creating lessons that are fun, engaging, and educational.

Aside from violin, Alayna also plays the French horn, and she enjoys rock climbing, reading, board games, and motorbike riding. 

Fees*:

• 30-Minute Lessons: $120 (Monthly) or $960 (Lump Sum)
• 45-Minute Lessons: $180 (Monthly) or $1,440 (Lump Sum)
• 60 Minute Lessons: $240 (Monthly) or $1,920 (Lump Sum)

*The above lump sum ranges are based on 32 weeks of lessons over the course of September - May, but can be pro-rated for students starting late in the term.
