"Terra Nullius: Doctrine of Discovery - What is the impact today on Indigenous People?"

Join Ninna Piiksii (Chief Bird), Dr. Mike Bruised Head, Iniskim Academic Elder and the University of Lethbridge's first PhD student to defend his doctoral dissertation in the Blackfoot language, for a presentation on "Terra Nullius: Doctrine of Discovery - What is the impact today on Indigenous People?".

“Treaty 7 – Our Story” told by Elder Clarence Wolf Leg Sr.

In partnership with the Indigenous Mental Health Program and Elders-in-Residence, join us as we host Elder Miiksika’am (Red Crane), Clarence Wolf Leg Sr., a Traditional Spiritual Leader from the Siksika Nation and spiritual advisor. 

Blessings and welcome ceremony will be given by Elder Francis First Charger. Light refreshments will be provided.

Elders in Residence - March 2025 Schedule

Oki,

Elders Francis First Charger, Cathy Hunt and Shirlee Crow Shoe provide cultural support, traditional teachings and guidance to any University of Lethbridge student, staff, or faculty from any culture.

Cathy Hunt & Shirlee Crow Shoe will be located in the Iikaisskini Gathering Centre in W650. Francis First Charger will be located in the Ceremony Room in A430.
