Upcoming Events

June is National Indigenous History Month and June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a time to recognize and celebrate the rich cultures, traditions and contributions of Indigenous Peoples to communities across Canada.

Join us for National Indigenous Peoples Day on campus — June 19, 2024!

At 11 a.m., there will be a Blackfoot prayer and smudge with Elder-in-Residence Ninnaisipistoo (Owl Chief), Francis First Charger in the Iikaisskini (Low Horn) Gathering Centre (W650) followed by a discussion — "What it means to be Niitsitapi” — and light refreshments, hosted by Iikaisskini Indigenous Services.

Everyone is welcome!

The University is located on traditional Blackfoot Confederacy territory. We honour the Blackfoot people and their traditional ways of knowing in caring for this land, as well as all Aboriginal peoples who have helped shape and continue to strengthen our University community.
